Classes for all ages
are held in the SewGreen classroom at 112 North Cayuga Street in downtown Ithaca. All supplies and equipment are provided. Classes are open to everyone: boys and girls, men and women of all ages, cultures, languages, skill levels,etc. Scholarships for youth are available.
Pre-registration is required for all classes. Send us an email with your contact info and the class(es) you want to attend.
Summer Classes
for Adults & Teens

Beginning Sewing I
Learn to use a sewing machine and make a simple project.
6 to 8 pm, Tuesday June 8
Repeated 6 to 8 pm, June 22, August 3, and August 10
Beginning Sewing II
Learn the next steps in sewing with a machine and make a bib apron.
6 to 8:15 pm, Thursday June 1
Repeated 6 to 8:15 pm, June 17, August 5, and August 12
Beginning Sewing III
Learn to put in a zipper and make a lining as you create a small purse/cargo bag. Beginning I and II or equivalent experience needed.
6 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday, June 16
Repeated 6 to 8:30 pm, June 30, August 11, and August 18.
Fix & Stitch
Bring in your older sewing machine and learn to clean, oil, and troubleshoot it for optimum performance. Use our tools and materials. For adults and teens; 12 and under with a parent.
2 to 4 pm, Saturday June 12
Repeated 10 am to noon, August 7
$15 per class; $25 for two; $40 for three.

School's Out! Creative Days
For new and returning students. Supervised but free-form time to pursue original sewing projects and explore individual creativity. Previous sewing experience requested. Limited to 8 students. $40 for one day; $75 for two days; $110 for all three.

Friday, July 23, 10 am to 4 pm.
Friday, August 13, 10 am to 4 pm.
Three-Day Beginners’ Series
For new students, or repeaters who want to get more practice. Kids learn to sew with a sewing machine and make easy projects, including a drawstring backpack, pillow, stuffed animal, and small quilt.Limited to 6 students. $75.
Tuesday through Thursday, July 13 to 16, 9 am to noon.
Repeated Tuesday through Thursday, July 27 to 29, 9 am to noon.
Four-Day Skill Builder Series
For returning students. Kids expand their sewing knowledge and work on more complex projects, including a skirt or pants, refashioning project, and a zippered bag. Limited to 8 students. $120 per series.
Monday through Thursday, August 23 to 26, noon to 4 pm.
Repeated Monday through Thursday, August 30 to September 2, noon to 4 pm.
